Wireless fire alarms at Parkway Newbury development

Wireless fire alarms at Parkway Newbury development.
Fire Systems Ltd, have been awarded the contract to supply wireless fire alarms to protect the timber frame construction on the Parkway Newbury development.
The development will include a large Debenhams department store, three more large stores, 50 shops, eight kiosks, a “food terrace” and 184 apartments.
During the construction of the apartments, the units are to be protecting against fire under the JCOP. Fire Systems Ltd, a specialist supplying and installing wireless fire alarms, will install wireless fire alarm systems protecting the apartments and communal areas on the project.
The large complex has eight external blocks. All blocks will have an independent wireless fire alarm system, interfaced on a wireless network to enable the fire signals from each block to be transmitted back to the security office.
There are currently 300 workers on the site at the moment but more than 4000 construction workers, sub contractors and specialist tradesmen are expected to be employed on the site during the two-year program.
All six blocks with have their own wireless fire alarm system. Each block will then be interfaced to the security office using wireless technology. The fire alarm control panel with the security office will have a wireless fire alarm interface and will accept all incoming radio signals identifying which block has activated.
As you can image this is a challenging project for our designers has the frame work of all the buildings are constantly changing. However, working with our client the electrical contactor we have been able to supply and install a reliable wireless fire alarm system. Each block will be added over a phased programme.
